On Kumejima there is a strange and wonderful natural formation in the surf known as Tatami Ishii. These are five and six sided lavarocks (andecite) formed about 500 years ago. They are flat like paving stones and perfectly formed. This is on the southern end of the island and has become quite a tourist attraction. Very beautiful and very mysterous.
 
When our friend 'Tak' took us there in August we were very impressed. After a few minutes of picture-taking and awed silence I asked 'Tak' how these beautiful rocks were formed? How does science explain them?
 
 
Tak replied; "God make."
 

Enough said.

ON A POSITIVE NOTE
 
I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

So far today I've done alright.  I haven't gossiped, lusted, lost my temper. I haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish or over-indulgent and I'm very thankful for that. 
 
But in a few minutes Lord, I'm going to get out of bed.  From then on I'm probably going to need a lot of help.
